with either paying back rent to avoid eviction or paying a security deposit and a first month’s rent on a new lease

This is an opportunity to prevent potential homelessness and those experiencing homelessness to be quickly re-housed and stabilized.

It is imperative that an initial pre screening be conducted to determine eligibility
1. Verifiable income that meets the rental requirements.
2. All necessary vital documents for all members.
3. an agreed lease that indicates a landlord commitment to rent.
4. If you’re seeking past due rent; a court docket number is mandatory to apply.
Section 8 assists low-income, disabled and homeless veterans with safe rentals through a project-based housing subsidy.  In order to apply for the Veteran Sect. 8 voucher subsidy, all applicants must provide all vital identification and income documentation for every household member over the age of 18.  An appointment must be scheduled with our Program Administrator in order to complete the application.  The documents are then forwarded to NJ State DCA for continued processing.  Upon final approval an inspection of the rental unit is scheduled, and a  move-in date is granted. The  process  could take up to 90 days. Due to the recent demands for rental units we encourage all applicants to create an additional housing search list.
